REPORT ON CLEANLENES OF THE ROOMS

This time I have given the responsibilities of the rooms for the department heads. For example concerning Laboratory room Fantu is in charge. And regarding the Delivery room Ayenalem (the midwife) is in charge. So they were monitoring their working area.

Wards, most of the time they are clean and has bed sheet always ( since we have plenty of bed sheet we were using always and since we have enough amount of bleach OMO and soup they are very clean and neat). The room has cleaning materials for the floor as well for the roof. All wards have safety box.

Delivery room. We have clean and well maintained delivery coaches. And also two baby coats. The rooms are always clean. The prenatal room beds have their own bed sheets (which are clean and neat) the room has cleaning materials. (it also have safety box). There is water.

Laboratory room. They have masks, clean gloves, and visible safety box. The room is very clean compared to the previous experience. The room has water and cleaning material.

Emergency room. Has clean coach. The room is always clean. In every patient interval except at night the cleaners are available. So the clean in every emergency conditions. The room has water supply. Have safety box. It has cleaning material. To the maximum we can we are keeping  Emergency Drugs.

Toilet room. Has water. Fairly clean. Has it’s own cleaning material.

Toilet room, it has it’s own cleaning material. And has water

Remark: New thing concerning our Delivery service is we have prepared around 4 towels for new born babies for mothers who come to the health center unprepared.

REPORT ON STAFF SATISIFACTION

Because of different reasons I have forced to have only one meeting with my staff.

The meeting was about how to work with the woreda Office

---one paragraph removed---

REPORT ON PATIENT SATISFACTION

I HAVE SPOKEN ONLY 5 Patients. 3 of them came with a complain of malaria sign and symptoms. 1 person GI problem and 1 person for Chronic care follow up.

Most of there ideas where the same. I mean the opinions they give is the same “ the health centre is in good shape now. The only thing which matter is transportation problem and some times shortage of drugs.

  • Concerning the cleanliness: They all have the same idea. “its very attractive”
  • Waiting time to be seen average 20 min.
  • About the privacy. All patient said “ we are safe and feel confident”
  • About the staffs. Most of them said “they all are friendly”

OUR HEALTH CENTRE BEFORE 1 AND HALF YEAR BEFORE

  • Ward beds are with out bed sheet. It’s not because we don’t have bed sheet we have shortage of them as well there were no enough cleaning materials for the bed sheets.
  • Delivery rooms were having only one delivery bed.
  • Most primigravidas where having episiotomy
  • The delivery room was having only one baby coat
  • While attending delivery there were no protective materials. Like long gloves plastic apron, mask, goggle and on duty cloths ETC
  • Any patient with air hunger has been referred immediately
  • Many Mothers where referred by lack of some delivery skills
  • Blood glucose level was not measured because of luck of equipment, not well functioning microscopes where used, unnecessary materials (garbage’s where kept) in a small lab. Room. No masks.
  • Emergency room. No much suturing materials. Non-referral cases have been referred because of luck of skill.
  • Cleaning materials, heavy duty gloves for the cleaners.
  • There has been old generator for the case of emergency cases while the light goes off.

WONDO GENET HEALTH CENTER AFTER 1 YEAR AND HALF(since the involvement of southern GWENT health link as a partner)

  • Almost no Episiotomy for primigravidas
  • Decrease of referral cases because there has been building up of skill by the link
  • Patients with air hanger are very safe since we have oxygen concentrator.
  • Plenty of Books computers for the staff which is un known in most of Ethiopian health centers.
  • Evaluation and monitoring of the health centre it self
  • Donation Laboratory Equipment including 2 functional and good microscope.
  • Donation of plenty of Bed sheet with cleaning materials
  • Feeling very comfortable while delivery since there is plenty of protective materials including on call cloths.’
  • Feeling more confident while doing emergency conditions.
  • More delivery coach as well baby coat
  • Including overhead projector plenty of teaching and learning aids.
  • Under five clinic looks like under five clinic since there are colorful materials toys and so on.
  • New and spare generator was donated.
  • Cleaning materials including heavy duty gloves were started to be more.

This are the list and the most important changes we have since the Southern health GWET link started working with The Wondo Genet health center as a partner. And we have been making great change in the service delivery.

Thank you
