Budget and Future

This is the End of Year Report to the British Embassy Addis Ababa for the Continuing Medical Education programme for Health Officers in SNNP Region June 2003 - July 2004.

It is now one year since the start of the Embassy’s support to the Continuing Medical Education programme in southern Ethiopia. The Dilla-Nevill Hall Abergavenny Link has also provided funding and resources during this year. Activities to develop the skills of Health Officers have been undertaken, providing them with a regular source of professional support and stimulation. They have been taught in small groups, actively discussing issues they come across in their daily work. They have undertaken their own studies, and had visits from specialists in their places of work, to advise and support them in their own working environment. This is the first time that Health Officers in post have been able to benefit from regular in-service clinical skills training and professional development.
