The original website was setup using Wordpress and had served its purpose well. However, as the scope of the link's activities increase and content increases as well, I felt that a more robust solution was needed.

After considerable research, Joomla has been chosen as the content management system. This mature and multi-award winning open-source project is ideally suited for our purposes. It has been a breeze to setup and customise and will be easy to maintain as well. This also makes more sense as this website was never a blog - what Wordpress is best suited for.

The content is organised similar to the old website. However, the new website will provide more information on recent and upcoming activities. It will also allow visitors to contact relevant members of the link through the 'Contact Us' page.

Most content has been moved across. However, some of the visit reports from 2006 or earlier will be moved to the new site over the next couple of weeks.
