Minutes of last meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were agreed as an accurate record. Matters arising. Finance/Fund transfer. The outstanding matters have still not been addressed. The charity giving and gift aid issues have not been settled and this amounts to approximately £12,000, which is still outstanding. Both of these matters are in hand. Pay as you earn is not being paid into either account at present, which must be rectified. Community link. There was nothing further to report on this. Fundraising. All the outstanding monies have now been paid. Wales for Africa Health Links report. This report will be presented at the Wales for Africa Health Links Conference. 165 people have registered for this conference which takes place tomorrow (8th July) at the Swalec Stadium, Cardiff. International Day of the Midwife. This took place on May 5th at the University of Glamorgan and went well. 10th year of link celebration. This was a very successful evening. Peter Sampson expressed his thanks to everyone for their contribution to making it such a good event. There was a good turnout and a lot of interest was shown in the link. Some of the T-shirts were sold and the rest of the 100 we purchased will be sold at other events. Special guests included Rhodri Morgan AM., Dr.Aberra, Eldryd Parry and Ato Habtom Abreha, Deputy Ethiopian Ambassador to UK. A picture and write-up of the event was published in the Abergavenny Chronicle. Wales for Africa Workshop. This took place on 10th May in Treforest, Pontipridd. It was a workshop for the Wales for Africa Health Links on sharing experiences. Biku, David, Melrose and Robin attended this. The Royal College of Pathologists. There was a workshop on ‘Supporting pathology services in low-income countries’ in London, on Friday 28th May 2010. David and Pegah attended this and a report on the direction it is expected to take will be released in due course. There appeared to be growing support for pathology in general, to help low income countries. It was felt that big donations of equipment are not generally a good idea and any help given needs to be sustainable. Llangynidr Show. We will be doing a stall which will be free of charge to us. This takes place on Sunday 29th August. Biku asked for volunteers and we will do a display and sell some of the T-shirts.
